TechFlow reports that Rex St.John, Head of Developer Relations at Anza — the recently spun-out development company from Solana Labs — announced that Agave v2.0, Solana's validator client, will be released to the Solana mainnet beta within weeks following the Solana Breakpoint conference.
The update includes several major changes, such as the removal of API endpoints, crate renaming, and other modifications. St.John advised validators, RPC operators, and developers to carefully review the recently published migration guide to prepare for these changes.
Key updates include: multiple crates being renamed to clarify their association with the Agave client; removal of several deprecated v1 Agave endpoints, with official recommended alternatives provided; archiving of the Solana Labs GitHub repository, with all future GitHub activity moving to the Anza Agave fork; and removal of multiple deprecated validator parameters upon the release of Agave v2.0.
St.John urged developers to check any automated scripts referencing these crates and audit scripts using the removed RPC endpoints to ensure a smooth transition to the new version.
Previous report: Anza, the newly spun-out development company from Solana Labs, was officially launched today and plans to develop its own validator client, Agave.
