TechFlow news, on August 20, according to The Block, Status, an open-source communication platform based on Ethereum, announced a collaboration with Linea, supported by Consensys, to launch a Layer 2 scaling solution. The two parties are jointly developing a Layer 2 network called Status Network, which will run in parallel with Linea's zkEVM chain. Cyprien Grau, core contributor at Status, said: "With the launch of Status Network, we aim to build the infrastructure needed to support decentralized applications and service ecosystems."
Nicolas Liochon, Global Lead of Linea, said: "Given Status’s contributions to Ethereum’s core operations and its consumer-facing Status app, our partnership with Status is a natural step." Nimbus, the Ethereum consensus client developed by Status, will be repurposed as a Linea client. This collaboration will focus on decentralizing Linea's sequencing and proof processes, while supporting innovative initiatives in areas such as public funding, social applications, GameFi, and governance experiments.
