TechFlow reported that the Nigerian Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has issued the first provisional operating license to Quidax, a crypto exchange founded in Africa, marking formal regulatory recognition of the country's digital asset industry.
Buchi Okoro, co-founder and CEO of Quidax, said this move provides a "major boost" to Nigeria's crypto community. The license allows Quidax to operate as a registered crypto exchange in Nigeria and to collaborate with banks and other financial institutions (pending approval from the Central Bank of Nigeria).
