TechFlow news — On August 16, according to local news website Bloter, Korean online gaming giant NCSoft has generated over 250 times returns from selling SUI tokens within just six months. According to the company's semi-annual report, NCSoft sold a total of 16,908,112 SUI tokens in the first half of this year at a price of 1,490 Korean won per token, generating total proceeds of 25.2 billion won, while its initial purchase cost was only 100 million won.
Initially, NCSoft invested 300 million won at 6 won per token to acquire 49,920,806 SUI tokens. Most of these tokens remain locked. In May, partial sales restrictions were lifted, and the company immediately sold all eligible tokens. The remaining 32,921,536 tokens are scheduled to unlock in May next year and May 2026.
Previous report, NCSoft invested $15 million in Mistin Labs, the issuer of SUI, back in November 2022, and established a strategic partnership to support Web3 game development within its ecosystem. Through the partial sale of SUI tokens, NCSoft has now fully recouped its investment.
