TechFlow reports that Optimism developers have unveiled a roadmap to introduce Layer 2 native interoperability within the ecosystem. The plan aims to enable seamless movement of assets and users across chains such as OP Mainnet, Zora, and Base.
Currently, these chains primarily rely on the Ethereum mainnet for communication and asset transfers. The new proposal will introduce a cross-chain message protocol, a universal token standard (SuperchainERC20), and an interoperable fault proof system. The development team plans to roll out the solution gradually through devnet, testnet, and ultimately mainnet deployment.
