TechFlow news, according to Cointelegraph, IBM has recently launched a new "lightweight engine" WatsonX.ai service primarily targeting enterprise clients. This lightweight engine is seen as a potential breakthrough enabling small and medium-sized enterprises in emerging sectors such as fintech to adopt generative AI. Unlike similar cloud-based services offered by companies like Microsoft and Google, IBM's solution supports on-premises deployment, better meeting the financial industry's stringent requirements for data security and compliance.
JPMorgan Chase recently acquired enterprise-level access to ChatGPT, providing the service to all 60,000 of its employees. IBM executives noted that as enterprises seek to deploy generative AI applications internally, they require platforms that consume fewer resources and are lighter in scale. IBM's "lightweight engine" was specifically designed for this purpose, helping software developers and enterprise developers deploy and run generative AI solutions efficiently while optimizing costs.
