TechFlow news, Irish police seized approximately $7.1 million (€6.5 million) worth of cryptocurrency during a raid in northern Dublin. The operation was part of a major investigation into money laundering and illegal transactions on dark web markets. Three people were arrested, including two men (aged 23 and 49) and a 32-year-old woman. The 23-year-old man remains in custody. The two men are suspected of assisting criminal organizations in carrying out serious crimes, while the woman faces money laundering charges.
In addition to the cryptocurrency, assets seized included luxury watches valued at over €120,000 and two high-performance vehicles worth about €220,000.
Chief Superintendent Michael Mullen of the National Cyber Crime Bureau described the investigation as "highly complex," targeting criminal activities on dark web markets.
