TechFlow reported that during a Zoom meeting hosted by California Representative Ro Khanna, aimed at mending strained relations between the crypto industry and the Democratic Party, crypto executives launched sharp criticisms against White House officials, primarily targeting regulatory actions by agencies such as the Securities and Exchange Commission and the Federal Reserve. Attendees said the meeting felt like a replay of last month's roundtable in Washington, D.C., where industry leaders had already voiced frustrations to senior White House officials over what they perceive as unfair treatment by the Biden administration.
Despite this, Anthony Scaramucci, founder of SkyBridge Capital, and Paul Grewal, Coinbase's chief legal officer, expressed optimism that Harris could still win support from the crypto industry.
The meeting included around twenty participants. Government officials in attendance included Deputy Treasury Secretary Wally Adeyemo, Deputy National Economic Council Director Lael Brainard, Deputy White House Chief of Staff Bruce Reed, and Harris’s senior advisor Kristine Lucius. Crypto representatives included billionaire Mark Cuban, SkyBridge Capital founder Anthony Scaramucci, investor Ron Conway, and executives from firms such as Ripple, Coinbase, Kraken, and Uniswap.
