TechFlow news — Bitcoin mining and energy infrastructure company Hut 8 announced that Sean Glennan will join the company as its new Chief Financial Officer (CFO) effective August 21. Current CFO Shenif Visram is stepping down for family reasons but will remain with the company until Glennan assumes the role to ensure a smooth transition.
Glennan previously served as Managing Director in Citigroup's Global Markets Investment Banking division, leading the Global Power, Utilities, and Renewable Energy group. During his 13-year tenure, he participated in over $80 billion in mergers and acquisitions and capital markets activities.
Hut 8 CEO Asher Genoot stated that Glennan’s strategic, financial, and capital markets expertise, along with his network, will be valuable assets for the company’s future growth.
In addition, Hut 8 released its mining update for July, reporting production of 105 bitcoins during the month, bringing its total holdings to 9,102 BTC. As of July 31, the company’s managed hash rate reached 13.4 EH/s, a slight increase from the prior month.
