TechFlow reports, the Base blockchain team, incubated by Coinbase, announced at the BaseCamp summit its plan to publicly launch the Basenames product in the coming weeks.
This is a new tool that converts blockchain addresses into human-readable formats, drawing inspiration from ENS technology.
Thomas Vieira, Head of Product at Base, said Basenames aims to connect developers with users, supports multiple wallet connections, and offers user search and profile customization features. The tool can serve as an on-chain resume, showcasing user skills and verified through on-chain data. Basenames addresses will follow a format similar to ENS but use Base-specific domain extensions such as base.eth.
