TechFlow news, according to The New York Times this morning, three Iranian officials revealed that Iran's Supreme Leader Khamenei issued an order during an emergency meeting demanding direct strikes against Israel in retaliation for the assassination of Hamas leader Haniyeh in Tehran. Iran and Hamas have accused Israel of carrying out the attack on Haniyeh, who was in Tehran attending the inauguration ceremony of Iran’s new president. It remains unclear how strong Iran’s response will be or whether it will again calibrate its attacks to avoid escalation.
Iranian officials said military commanders are considering another coordinated drone and missile strike targeting military sites near Tel Aviv and Haifa, while taking care to avoid civilian targets.
One option under consideration is a synchronized attack launched from Iran and allied fronts—including Yemen, Syria, and Iraq—to maximize impact.
