TechFlow news — On July 31, Taiko, a zkRollup-based Ethereum Layer 2 network, announced on X that recent media reports claiming the Ethereum Foundation sold tokens and abandoned its project were published without attempting to verify the information with Taiko, lacking basic journalistic diligence and professionalism. Taiko emphasized that it has never issued any tokens to the Ethereum Foundation and reiterated its close collaboration with the Foundation. As the first Based Rollup, Taiko has consistently upheld this position. During the recent EthCC event, Vitalik referred to Taiko as an "EVM purist" in his keynote speech, further confirming the strong connection between the two.
