TechFlow reported, BlackRock's Head of ETF and Index Investments, Samara Cohen, said that in the near term, only Bitcoin and Ethereum will be traded via ETFs. In an interview with Bloomberg Television, Cohen noted that while Bitcoin and Ethereum meet the investment giant's minimum criteria for ETFs, other digital assets are far from meeting the standards. She emphasized that, in terms of investment viability and client demand, currently only these two cryptocurrencies qualify, and other digital currencies will require more time.
Despite speculation about next steps following the successful launch of Ethereum ETFs last week—especially discussions around Solana—Cohen believes market demand for ETFs of other cryptocurrencies is not yet strong enough.
