TechFlow reports, Kristin Smith, CEO of the Blockchain Association, said Kamala Harris becoming the Democratic Party's presumptive presidential nominee presents a new opportunity to reshape cryptocurrency policy.
Smith believes a younger candidate familiar with California's tech economy could bring entirely new policies. The Blockchain Association has reached out to Harris's team but has not yet received a response.
Several crypto advocacy groups are calling on Harris to engage in "open dialogue" and support cryptocurrency in the party platform. However, the crypto community remains skeptical about whether Harris can change the Biden administration's approach to crypto policy. Nonetheless, Smith remains optimistic that Harris's team will eventually engage with crypto leaders, noting Harris has the chance to differentiate her policy stance from Biden's.
