TechFlow News, July 25 — According to Bitcoin.com News, Telegram CEO Pavel Durov predicted that 2024 will be the year of mass blockchain adoption. In a recent statement, he introduced several new features, including a mini-app store and a Web3-enabled in-app browser, while emphasizing enhanced measures against crypto scams.
Durov stated, "2024 will go down in history as the year hundreds of millions of people become familiar with blockchain." He proudly noted that Telegram is at the center of this societal shift and expressed his expectation that the new features would drive user understanding and adoption of blockchain technology. Additionally, Durov revealed that Telegram will begin displaying the registration month and primary country for public accounts to increase transparency and help users identify potential scams.
Durov emphasized that Telegram's goal is to develop decentralized tools, including non-custodial wallets and decentralized exchanges, to securely facilitate cryptocurrency transactions for millions. Furthermore, in Monday's announcement, Durov mentioned that Telegram has reached 950 million monthly active users, a significant increase from the 900 million reported in spring, and expects to surpass the one billion user mark soon.
