TechFlow reports that X platform user bamboo has exposed a Web3-related scam. Allegedly, a group of fake "influencers" is nearly defrauding people of $20,000 daily through meme coins and projects.
The scammers' tactics include impersonating influencers, posting stolen tweets and artwork, collecting wallet addresses, manipulating token supply and price, blocking skeptics, launching tokens, and then dumping them.
Bamboo noted that these scammers may have purchased old accounts previously followed by well-known figures in the industry to gain trust. Despite lacking innovation, real users continue to participate.
Bamboo urges users to unfollow and block accounts suspected of involvement, such as @ggaryplayz, @punk2537, @Retardio_eth, and @trenchesexe.
