TechFlow reports that Aksakov, Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Financial Markets, recently stated that the digital ruble's international settlement functionality will be achieved by 2026. The plan is to expand domestic pilot programs in 2025 and gradually promote usage both domestically and internationally starting in 2026.
Earlier, President Putin called for creating conditions conducive to digital asset circulation. Russia's regulatory framework for cryptocurrencies and digital assets is expected to be adopted by August this year. This reflects Russia's determination to advance digital currencies and cross-border payments, while adopting a cautious and gradual strategy.
