TechFlow reports, Bloomberg senior columnist Merryn Somerset Webb has urged UK's new Chancellor of the Exchequer Rachel Reeves to sell the country's 61,245 bitcoins to help "rebuild Britain," noting that "as long as international criminals use Bitcoin and are caught by law enforcement, more cryptocurrency could end up in their hands."
Merryn Somerset Webb stated that the UK's new finance minister has inherited one of the worst economic environments since World War II. Achieving the goal of "rebuilding Britain and making every part of the country work better" would require substantial funding. However, a large sum of money is readily available without raising taxes—the UK’s Bitcoin holdings.
