TechFlow reports that HKMA Deputy Chief Executive Nelson Chow wrote in a blog post that the initial use cases proposed by institutions participating in the "sandbox" include payments, supply chain management, and capital markets applications. Other use cases include Web3, gaming, and virtual asset trading. Participation in the "sandbox" is not a prerequisite for future license applications; institutions seeking licenses will need to submit formal applications separately after the regulatory regime is established.
