TechFlow reports, according to Decrypt, that the TON Foundation plans to launch a Bitcoin cross-chain bridge called TON Teleport BTC—a trustless bridging service designed to enable secure Bitcoin transfers between the Bitcoin network and the Telegram-linked TON network. The TON Foundation stated that the system will allow Bitcoin holders to participate in DeFi applications such as decentralized exchanges and lending platforms within the TON ecosystem. Each Bitcoin on TON will be fully backed by actual Bitcoin and pegged through the teleportation process.
Anatoliy Makosov, TON's technical lead, said: "All transactions are executed via smart contracts and validated by TON blockchain validators. Storing and using Bitcoin on TON is as secure as using the Bitcoin network itself, but at lower cost and greater convenience."
