TechFlow reported, citing Cointelegraph, that Swiss blockchain venture capital firm CV VC released a report on July 16 stating global blockchain funding has sharply declined this year. Global blockchain funding reached $10.66 billion in the first half of 2023, but only $5.74 billion in the same period of 2024, a 64% year-on-year decrease. In 2024, there were only 678 funding deals compared to 1,306 deals during the same period in 2023, representing a 49% reduction. Africa received $34.7 million in investments during the first half of 2024, down 74% from $135.4 million in 2023, although the number of deals in the region increased by 9%.
