TechFlow reported, according to Cointelegraph, that the U.S. Senate has recommended using blockchain technology in national security testing. The report on the Fiscal Year 2025 National Defense Authorization Act by the U.S. Senate Committee on Armed Services urges the Department of Defense to explore the potential of blockchain in supply chain management and other national security applications.
The report states that blockchain technology can enhance cryptographic integrity and data integrity within defense supply chains, reducing the risk of data manipulation or disruption by near-peer adversaries. Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin is required to deliver a briefing by April 1, 2025, covering six key findings, including pilot programs, research and development, and the risks and benefits of blockchain technology in national security applications such as supply chain tracking and management.
