TechFlow reported, according to CoinDesk, that blockchain startup Obol Labs has formed a new industry group aimed at advancing Distributed Validator Technology (DVT). This technology is designed to enhance the security and resilience of decentralized networks like Ethereum by distributing control of validator hardware across multiple parties.
Obol Labs said the organization, named the Obol Collective, includes more than 50 participants from the Ethereum ecosystem, including EigenLayer, Lido, Figment, Bitcoin Suisse, and Nethermind. Obol's distributed validator technology has already been adopted by major players such as Lido for use in a portion of their validator nodes.
