TechFlow reports that Kakarot, a zkEVM network built on Starknet and CairoVM, has announced the launch of its public testnet phase. The testnet is now live without requiring a whitelist—users can claim testnet tokens via faucets and join the network immediately. Kakarot plans to introduce a testnet community points system and deploy on Starknet Sepolia later this summer, making it the first dual-VM ZK-Rollup supporting both EVM and CairoVM.
Previous report: On May 22, Starknet developer StarkWare announced plans to launch the zkEVM Kakarot.
