TechFlow reports that Oneblock+, a developer community in the Polkadot ecosystem, recently submitted two proposals on OpenGov to host Polkadot hackathons in the Asia-Pacific region for 2024. The proposed budget allocates 30% for operational costs and 70% for prizes to winning teams. However, the proposal has faced strong opposition from numerous Delegated Validators (DVs) and prominent DOT holders, who argue that the prize amounts are excessively high. In response, Oneblock+ expressed strong dissatisfaction, comparing their proposal to easyA's hackathon, which allocated only a small portion of its budget to prizes. Oneblock+ maintains that generous rewards are essential to attract more developers to join and continuously build within the Polkadot ecosystem.
