TechFlow reported, according to Coindesk, on July 2, ZK technology validation company Pi Squared raised $12.5 million in seed funding led by Polychain Capital, with participation from ABCDE, Bloccelerate, Generative Ventures, Robot Ventures, and Samsung Next. Angel investors including Justin Drake from the Ethereum Foundation and Sreeram Kanann, founder of EigenLayer, also joined the round.
Founded and led by Grigore Rosu, a computer science professor at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, Pi Squared plans to use the new capital to expand its product offerings, including a "universal settlement layer" and "universal zero-knowledge circuits," which aim to enable trustless remote computation, AI, and interoperable smart contracts across blockchains or dApps. The project is expected to enter testnet phase by the end of 2024.
