TechFlow news, according to The Block, open-source AI development platform Sentient has announced the completion of an $85 million seed funding round. The round was co-led by Peter Thiel's Founders Fund, Pantera Capital, and Framework Ventures, with participation from other investors including Ethereal Ventures, Robot Ventures, Symbolic Capital, and Delphi Ventures.
One of Sentient's core contributors is Sandeep Nailwal, co-founder of Polygon. Sentient's advisor is Sreeram Kannan, founder and CEO of EigenLayer. Sentient aims to build open-source AI models through community contributions, addressing centralization, security, and ethical issues in today's AI landscape. Sentient plans to launch its testnet in the third quarter of this year and intends to leverage Polygon's technology for development.
