TechFlow reports that on July 1, the Aptos Foundation proposed deploying Aave V3—an open-source liquidity protocol governed by the Aave DAO—on the Aptos network. The proposal is currently in an early "temperature check" phase, primarily gathering feedback from the Aave governance community. After discussion concludes, it will move to a "snapshot" voting phase. If approved, further discussions on asset parameters and implementation details will follow, culminating in a formal Aave Improvement Proposal (AIP), which would then be deployed after thorough testing and audit.
Notably, Aave Labs has already deployed integration code on the Aptos testnet, and the Aptos Foundation is sponsoring the audit. If ultimately approved by the Aave community, this would mark Aave’s first deployment on a non-EVM blockchain, making it accessible to developers within Aptos’ Move programming language ecosystem.
