TechFlow reports that Vitalik has published an article on improving Ethereum user transaction confirmation times. He noted that although Ethereum has already reduced transaction confirmation times to 5–20 seconds through EIP-1559 and stable block intervals post-merge, there remains room for further improvement.
The article outlines several practical and feasible enhancement approaches, including single-slot finality and rollup pre-confirmations. Vitalik also discussed pre-confirmation mechanisms, suggesting they could provide faster transaction confirmation guarantees for both L1 and L2.
