TechFlow news: Rarimo, a protocol for cross-chain asset and identity interoperability, has launched RariMe, a competitor to Worldcoin, enabling users to generate zero-knowledge (ZK) proofs from their passports to verify uniqueness without revealing personal identity. The first demo use case will distribute programmable airdrops to citizens of specific countries using passport-based ZK proofs.
Unlike Worldcoin's iris scanning method, Rarimo verifies identity by scanning passports via smartphone. ZK technology ensures no personal data is shared during identity verification.
It is reported that Rarimo was previously an anonymous blockchain voting technology team that verified the legitimacy of Putin's victory in Russia's elections.
Lasha Antadze, co-founder of Rarilabs, stated that RariMe aims to restore online privacy, allowing users to interact anonymously in Web3.
