TechFlow reports that Coinbase Assets has announced on X (formerly Twitter) that Ocean (OCEAN) and Fetch.ai (FET) have declared a merger to form the Artificial Superintelligence Alliance (ASI). The merger will occur in two phases: first, OCEAN will migrate to FET on July 1, 2024; second, ASI will launch in mid-to-late July 2024, at which point FET will be merged into ASI.
Coinbase will not perform these asset migrations on behalf of users. However, trading support for both FET and OCEAN will continue. Users may self-migrate their assets using self-custody wallets such as Coinbase Wallet.
