TechFlow News, according to Coindesk, investment management firm Investcorp and digital asset securities company Securitize have announced a partnership aimed at tokenizing funds using blockchain technology. This collaboration will initially focus on developing tokenized funds within Investcorp's Investcorp Strategic Capital Group (ISCG). Established in 2019, ISCG manages $1.5 billion in assets and specializes in acquiring minority stakes in alternative asset management firms.
Anthony Maniscalco, Managing Partner of ISCG, said: "Our partnership with Securitize continues Investcorp’s tradition of innovation in alternative investments. Tokenization not only enhances investment efficiency but also ushers in a new era of investing, enabling broader access to GP equity strategies." Carlos Domingo, co-founder and CEO of Securitize, added that tokenizing alternative assets will allow individual investors to participate in investment opportunities previously out of reach.
In recent years, Investcorp has actively participated in the crypto space, hiring Herve Francois, former head of digital assets at ING, in 2022 to build its first blockchain fund, and has repeatedly led or participated in funding rounds for cryptocurrency companies.
