TechFlow reported that Narek Gevorgyan, CEO of cryptocurrency portfolio management company CoinStats, said on X that the company's AWS infrastructure was hacked. Preliminary evidence indicates the breach occurred after a social engineering attack tricked an employee into downloading malware.
Gevorgyan stated it was painful to see six years of hard work severely impacted, especially since the attack targeted CoinStats Wallet—a minor feature used by less than 1% of users. The company is currently awaiting the final report from law enforcement before releasing a more detailed incident analysis and response measures.
Earlier report, CoinStats was hacked on the evening of June 22, affecting approximately 1,590 wallets.
