TechFlow news: The Korean Ministry of Science and ICT and the Korea Internet & Security Agency announced they will promote blockchain-supported projects in 2024 to activate domestic blockchain technology and industry. The project, totaling 20 billion KRW (approximately 14.5 million USD), will be divided into public and private sectors, aiming to support public service development and productization by private enterprises.
The public sector will advance six projects, including digital vouchers based on central bank digital currency (CBDC); the private sector will advance eight projects, including a blockchain development support portal platform. These initiatives aim to deliver more convenient government services and provide continuous support for innovative services.
