TechFlow reported, according to The Block, that after the attacker of the UwU Lend platform failed to return the funds, the protocol is taking another step to locate the hacker. Based on Ethereum's Input Data Message (IDM), UwU Lend has set a $5 million ETH bounty for the "first person to identify and locate" the exploiter, adding, "No need to recover funds or fees."
Previously, the protocol had directly discussed setting up a bounty with the exploiter. The attacker could have kept 20% of the stolen funds, provided they returned 80%. The protocol stated that if the exploiter complied, no further action would be taken and law enforcement would not be involved.
The deadline for the attacker to return the funds was Wednesday at 1 p.m. ET. However, in a message sent to the attacker on Thursday, UwU Lend wrote, "The repayment deadline for the funds you stole has passed."
