TechFlow reports that Binance Chinese responded to the incident where user @CryptoNakamao on the X platform lost up to $1 million due to a malicious browser extension hijacking their webpage cookies. Binance expressed deep regret over the incident, stating that their security support team processed the user's account freeze request in 1 minute and 19 seconds on May 24.
They noted that investigating suspicious transactions, identifying suspect accounts, and submitting cross-platform freeze requests require time.
The Binance team stated they were previously unaware of any plugin cases related to AGGR, thanked the user for sharing information, and said they will continue their investigation. While expressing sympathy for the user’s experience, Binance emphasized that since the asset loss resulted from a malicious extension, compensation cannot be provided. Binance will continue improving system security and urges users to enhance their own security awareness and self-protection measures.
