TechFlow reports, cryptocurrency analyst Cold Blooded Shiller said that over the past four days, multiple celebrities have launched memecoins. Historically, celebrity-backed crypto projects often fail and end up with zero value.
Shiller believes that if celebrities immediately launch tokens, regardless of who they are, they should just get lost—and if they launch a token while spouting empty rhetoric about their love for crypto, they should still get lost. He views celebrities exploiting the "memecoin" trend to quickly make money as predatory behavior, and people have every right to be angry.
Shiller suggests celebrities should spend time understanding and engaging with the crypto space without promoting any tokens; otherwise, they cannot be trusted. He points out that the current environment isn't constructive—it merely provides a platform for individuals to profit from their fame.
In response, crypto KOL Ansem disagrees with telling celebrities who issue tokens to "get lost." Some celebrities are unaware of the implications and are often misled by their teams. They care about their fans, and if made aware of the harm, would more readily adopt positive ways to participate. Therefore, discussion is important to help celebrities understand these issues and avoid repeating mistakes.
