TechFlow news, according to Cointelegraph, citing CoinMarketCap data, BTC hit a record high of 11.2 million yen in early trading on May 21 in Japan. The local currency has been weakening against the U.S. dollar over recent months, down 10% against the dollar since the beginning of the year.
On May 21, Bitcoin also reached a peak in Argentina, hitting 63.8 million Argentine pesos (ARS), slightly above its mid-March peak. This South American country has struggled over the past few years with inflation currently at 290% and ongoing currency depreciation.
