TechFlow reported, citing Protos, that despite receiving a four-month sentence, former Binance CEO CZ has not yet entered prison due to procedural aspects of the U.S. criminal justice system and Fifth Amendment protections for due process. According to the judgment signed by the judge, Zhao Changpeng is required to surrender himself to serve his sentence upon notification from the probation or pretrial services office. As of now, the relevant authorities have not yet notified Zhao Changpeng that he must report to the California prison.
The report stated that the said office has been conducting a statutory review regarding the applicability of housing CZ at the Federal Detention Center and Prison in Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (Seatac), aiming to avoid any legal remedies arising from failure to provide constitutionally mandated due process.
