TechFlow news — Cryptocurrency exchange FTX has sent an email to its customers announcing an extension of the deadline for submitting claims. Previously, May 15 was the final date for users to file claims.
The email stated that the deadline will be extended to align with the date and time by which creditors must vote to approve the Chapter 11 reorganization plan in the U.S. proceedings.
FTX’s liquidators expect this date to arrive at the end of July or early August, giving customers at least another 10 to 12 weeks to submit their claims. The company also noted that customers of the exchange may participate in proceedings either in the Bahamas or in the United States, or in both jurisdictions simultaneously.
In addition, the team said that in June 2024, users will receive information about the outcomes of participating in one or the other proceeding, "and they will have 6–8 weeks to make their final decision."
