TechFlow news: Cosmos Hub has announced that Proposal #914 (v16 software upgrade) has been approved, and the Cosmos Hub will undergo the v16 upgrade at block 20440500 (May 15).
It stated that v16 includes new key features enabled by upgrading to SDK v0.47.
- IBC Rate Limiting Module: Prevents large inflows or outflows of IBC tokens within short periods, adding an additional layer of protection for IBC transfers;
- ICA Controller Submodule: Enables Hub users to perform operations on other chains using their Hub accounts;
- IBC Fee Middleware: Supports creating IBC channels with incentives built into the relayer protocol.
In addition, v16 upgrades ICS to v4.1.0-lsm, introducing ICS epochs to reduce ICS relaying costs.
