TechFlow news, according to CoinDesk, Indonesia's government agency, the Commodity Futures Trading Regulatory Agency (Bappebti), which is responsible for regulating cryptocurrencies, has recently established a dedicated committee to oversee the industry. The Crypto Asset Committee was formed under regulations issued in January. Cryptocurrencies fall under Bappebti's jurisdiction because they are classified as commodities in Indonesia.
Kasan, head of Bappebti, said at the opening of BLK 2024 in Jakarta on May 2: "The committee will serve as a driving force to ensure the crypto asset industry continues to operate smoothly and remains within the applicable legal framework. Therefore, optimizing the role of the Crypto Asset Committee should be a key focus for the current crypto asset ecosystem."
