TechFlow news, the Cyber Crime Investigation Division of Seoul Dongbu District Prosecutors' Office said it has recovered a deleted digital wallet belonging to a suspect in a fraud case and seized 7.6 billion won (approximately $5.6 million) worth of Ethereum. The prosecution stated that programmer Ahn was accused of defrauding 156 victims between January and February 2019 by claiming that the token he developed would soon be listed on an exchange platform, thereby stealing investment funds totaling 14.6 billion won (approximately $14.6 million) from the victims.
In June of the same year, Ahn was also accused of transferring 1,796 ETH to his personal cryptocurrency wallet, which had been purchased by the gaming platform company he worked for to operate a cryptocurrency exchange platform.
