TechFlow reported, according to The Blocks, that Blade Games, a blockchain gaming studio and infrastructure provider, has raised $2.4 million in seed funding. The round was co-led by PTC Crypto and IOSG Ventures, with participation from Bonfire Union Ventures, Animoca Ventures, Mantle, ForesightX, Formless Capital, Public Works, Puzzle Ventures, K300 Ventures, and others.
Games built using Blade Games' proprietary zk game engine can run game logic within a zkVM and push state diffs onto the blockchain as zkSNARK proofs, which are then verified on L2. Currently, the zk game engine supports up to 12–15 frames per second and is soon to be upgraded with batch proof functionality. The engine currently enables game studios to develop survival, tower defense, RPG, and roguelike deck-building games.
Blade Games’ in-house title, Dune Factory, began closed testing on May 1, with test rules and rewards announced on April 29. The game plans to launch public testing by the end of May.
