TechFlow reported, OKLink released its April 2024 security monthly report, indicating that blockchain security incidents across the network in April caused cumulative losses of approximately $110 million. Among these, phishing incidents accounted for 7.67% of losses, REKT incidents for 43.90%, and RugPull incidents for 44.07%.
The largest REKT incident this month was the attack on Hedgey Finance, resulting in a loss of about $44 million due to a vulnerability where user inputs were not properly validated, allowing assets within the contract to be stolen. The most significant RugPull incident involved the crypto gambling platform ZKasino conducting a RugPull, causing losses of approximately $33 million.
In addition, there were 32 incidents of official social media accounts being compromised by scams and phishing attacks, primarily occurring on X, Discord, and various phishing websites. OKLink reminds users to never disclose your private keys or recovery phrases to anyone and avoid storing them via screenshots. Furthermore, exercise caution when downloading software to prevent malware infection that could lead to the leakage of private keys or recovery phrases.
