TechFlow reports that on March 12, Nexo launched the "Bitcoin Deserves an Emoji" campaign, with over 20 crypto organizations—including BTC Inc, Bitget, Brink, Chainalysis, Hacken, and Nansen—joining the initiative. The campaign unites the global cryptocurrency community in advocating for a dedicated Bitcoin emoji to be added to digital keyboards, emphasizing that cryptocurrencies today represent not only money but also technology and culture.
Driven by the community, the initiative first launched a 50-day petition on Change.org, followed by a formal proposal submitted to the Unicode Consortium in 2024. A similar effort to add a Bitcoin emoji was previously rejected in 2020.
