TechFlow news, according to the Financial Times, Temasek Holdings, Singapore's state-owned investment firm, is in investment talks with Sam Altman, CEO of OpenAI, the developer of ChatGPT.
It is reported that senior executives from Temasek have met with Altman several times over recent months. The discussions are preliminary but ongoing, and no agreement has yet been reached on any investment size.
The negotiations come as Altman seeks funding to launch a semiconductor venture aimed at reducing reliance on advanced chips manufactured by Nvidia. Although OpenAI is still operating at a loss, its revenue has surged significantly since the launch of ChatGPT in November 2022.
