TechFlow news: The amount of Bitcoin held by miners has dropped to its lowest level since July 2021. According to Glassnode data, the number of Bitcoin in miner wallets has decreased by 8,426 BTC from the beginning of the year, falling to 1,812,482 BTC, worth $530 million.
Miners currently receive 6.25 BTC per block, but the scheduled halving event in April will cut this reward by 50%, reducing it to 3.125 BTC per block.
To cope with the impact of the halving, miners may be selling their stored Bitcoin to purchase more efficient equipment and reduce operational costs. Additionally, the prolonged dry season in Southwest China could also be one of the reasons behind the decline in miners' Bitcoin balances.
