TechFlow news: Polygon Labs has announced the launch of version 6 of its digital identity solution, Polygon ID, introducing Dynamic Credentials for the first time—a W3C specification enabling users to automatically refresh expired credentials directly from their wallets. The implementation of Dynamic Credentials includes new services integrated into issuer nodes, as well as the refresh protocol implemented in mobile and js-sdk.
This new feature brings significant benefits to many use cases:
1. Issuers can create new business models based on recurring revenue through short-term credentials (since refreshes can be monetized).
2. Polygon ID can now support truly compliant KYC/AML credentials while delivering an optimal user experience—KYC credential issuers can issue short-term credentials and perform AML checks only at each refresh.
3. Users can hold perpetually valid and up-to-date "permanent" credentials.
4. Polygon ID supports volatile data that requires continuous refreshing, such as credit scores; for verifiers, this means they are essentially "subscribing" to a user's data stream.
