TechFlow reports that in response to Ethereum Foundation data researcher Toni Wahrstatter's analysis on "whether Ethereum's block gas limit should be increased," Vitalik Buterin replied on X, saying: "I am inclined to use an EIP to increase the cost of calldata, perhaps reverting to the original 68 gas per non-zero byte. Now that we have EIP-4844 blobs for data-intensive use cases, it will resolve worst-case data issues and create more room for increasing the gas limit and blob count targets."
